30DPC- Day 12

Day 12 - A picture of something you love
This is the total opposite of my last post. It weird to go to such extremes. There are a lot of things I love, friends, family, pets, material objects, institutions. I decided to pick the two little things that give me the most joy and unconditional love back.
Snips and Winry. My two beautiful sugar glider girls. Snips is still a little standoffish but Winry loves to cuddle and play whenever she has the chance. Winry thrives off of attention and enjoys cuddling with "mommy" (me) during the day and playing with "daddy" (David) in the evening.
I love my glider girls so very very much.

30DPC- Day 11

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate
Hate is a really strong word... but I think PETA may be one of those things I uselessly waste time, emotions, and energy on. What a waste of money this group is. Did you know that their "shelter" in New York City euthanizes 2- 3 times more animals than the New York City Pound? PETA's "shelter" takes in  5-6 times more money than the New York City Pound? What is that?! That is fracking stupid, that's what it is. I can understand the want to work against animal cruelty and to promote realistic animal rights. But PETA takes it to a level of insanity. There are certain PETA supporters who need to not breed... but thats a personal opinion. Too many celebrities support this organization. Much like Scientology it is a money sucking leach that does nothing for the community.

PETA, from me to you... get a worthwhile mission and stop being a media whore. It makes you look like a joke. You have the potential to do awesome things, but you're screwing it up with your need to be news worthy.  Work from the heart and not for the attention and you'll make a real difference in the world. I believe in you...

30DPC- Day 10

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most ****** up things with
Yeah... I have no idea what this means for me since I've never gotten in trouble or done anything particularly stupid. So I went with the next best thing- the animal I've done the most ridiculous stuff with!
My kitty, Narissa (5/26/09-5/14/10), was my best friend for the nearly year I lived on my own in Montana. So many lonely winter nights she was there to keep my company. We played fetch, ran around the apartment, meowed at each other, and ate split pea soup together. Narissa was also my travel buddy, and spent the long hours in the car between Bozeman and Pullman with me. Either curled up in my lap or meowing out the window she enjoyed the trips to see David. The picture of Narissa I chose is kind of the essence of our craziness. When we went on our trips I would always have to stop for food. Narissa thought that the drive through were the greatest thing since catnip. She loved to meow at the people in the drive up window and they always got a kick out of seeing her. The McDonald's in Kellog Idaho knew her and gave her free ice cream whenever we came through.
Narissa is greatly missed by many people but our crazy memories together will stay with me forever.

30DPC- Day 9

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most
I bet none of you saw this coming! There's a reason I'm going to marry the guy- its because he not only loves me no matter how insane I am, he's always there for me. David's my best friend, my confidant, my rock. He's gotten me through multiple life changing times; the Airlift crash, death of my Great Grandmother, High school in general, moving to Montana by myself, transferring Universities, the death of my Grandma Dode (2010). I'm sure there are many more than those mentioned but those are some key times he's come through for me. From 2005 to present have been the most life altering years of my life and David has been there through all of it. Not necessarily as my significant other, but always as my friend.

30DPC- Day 8

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh
Please, if you looked at this picture and didn't at least smile go to the doctor. There's something wrong with you.... I say that in the nicest possible way.
This picture of Lars and I was taken during our last family trip through Yellowstone National Park. Lars refuses to willingly give me hugs so I take them when I get the opportunity! Of course Lars can't help but make the most classic faces of all time. This one is definitely top 5.
Lars and I have had a rocky relationship in the past but I feel like that as we've gotten older and matured it has gotten better. Yeah, we still fight or disagree but hey, who else can you get in a screaming match with and know that in a few hours/days everything will be okay again?

30DPC- Day 7

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item
This in my engagement ring, given to me by David Fugiel on the day he asked me to be his wife. It is easily my most treasured possession. It is white gold, with 1/4 carat total weight in diamonds.
I love my ring because it symbolizes so much to me. The love David has always shown me, the best friend he has always been, and that he wants to be with my forever. I love David dearly and am so happy he asked me to be his wife.

30DPC- Day 6

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day
This was another challenge I got really stuck on... who would I want to trade places with for one day? I really do enjoy my life and even though sometimes I'm stressed out of my mind... its not that bad. So I chose the Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria. I would be fascinated to know what the day to day life of a modern royal is really like outside of the paparazzi hype. Being an American born and raised the idea of true royalty is slightly alien to me. She is also 13 years older than me and will eventually be the queen of Sweden (the 4th queen regent ever).

30DPC- Day 5

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory
Asking me to pick one favorite memory nearly put me in tears... going through all the pictures I own and deciding which one to use was nearly impossible. I chose a picture that was more symbolic than literal, it covers more beloved memories than just one. This photo is of my grandparent's dock on Knife Lake.
Memories of summer trips to their cabin, jumping off the dock, kayaking, and fishing run rampant as I look at this picture. Grandma falling in the lake getting into her kayak, Lars setting up the trampoline to make himself jump higher, sitting and fishing with Grandpa... even the last memory I have of this place shortly after Grandma passed away.
While Papa and Grandpa were going through some of Grandma's stuff I went down to the dock to sit. Usually I wouldn't have done such a thing because the mosquitoes are unbearable, but that day not a single mosquito bothered me. I sat down on the dock until Papa called me back. The water lapping against the shore, birds chirping, mini bears (chipmunks) chattering. It was wonderful to escape to a place I knew my grandmother had loved so dearly.
This photo isn't of my favorite memory, but of my some of my favorite memories.

30DPC- Day 4

Day 04 - A picture of your night
This was a hard one, mostly because it could mean a lot of things. I decided on this picture because it is in essence what my weekends tend to be. Friends gathered around the TV, killing each other in a cyber universe while consuming alcoholic beverages. It may seem dull or boring for many but honestly its a cheap way to have fun with friends. The drinks are cheap, the entertainment is free, and the laughs are priceless! What else could you ever ask for?

30DPC- Day 3

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show
House is my favorite show.
Hands down, no competitor.
Between the mystery, the relationships, and the witty comments that are written amazingly well I can't help but love it. Hugh Laurie has to be one of my favorite actors, and Olivia Wilde (13 on the show) is one of my favorite actresses.
House, much like CSI and many other popular shows, is very systematic. But unlike many of those shows you never know what kind of twist will end the show, whether it be the truth about the patient, House, relationships, or the patient dies even though the mystery has been solved. Last night's House episode ended with the patient being wanted in 10 different states for murder (he cannibalized his victims). Who saw that coming?! I'll tell you who, NO ONE!
I end this post with a bit of House wisdom:
"Everyone lies"
"Faith - that's another word for ignorance, isn't it?"
"Is it still illegal to perform an autopsy on a living person?"

30DPC- Day 2

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.
This is Katie. She's been my closest friend since 3rd grade. When I moved away after the 3rd grade we kept contact and have since then stayed friends. Yes, there have been times where we've gone months without having contact. But we can Always pick right back up on where we were. Katie is my closest confidant and the sister I never had. We are nearly polar opposites, she's tiny, dark haired, and extremely smart, I'm huge, blonde, and average. She and I will always disagree on somethings, but we love each other enough to recognize that those little things don't matter. We've been together through just about everything. Childhood, tween years, junior high, high school, love, loss, and heartbreak. No matter what she's all was been there when I've needed her most. I'll always have her and she'll always have me.

30DPC- Day 1

Day 1 - A picture of yourself with ten facts
1. I'm extremely proud of my Scandinavian heritage.
2. Even though studying to be a history teacher, I still dream of someday being a nurse.
3. I believe transferring to WSU may have been one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself.
4. I used to have an extreme fear of traveling outside of the country, now I would do anything to see the world.
5. Volunteering makes me feel amazing- especially when it has to do with helping kids learn.
6. I would do anything to have a job right now
7. The longer I'm in college the more of a feminist I seem to become (not extreme)
8. I feel happiest when I'm with David- no matter what we're doing
9. There are days I'd give anything to fast forward life so I could be done with school, and there are days I'd give anything to stay in school forever.
10. The only thing I really want out of life is to be a good mom someday.

Seattle Trip

Had a wonderful trip to Seattle earlier this week. It was wonderful to spend time with my family.
I went and saw my brother's first tech show, Harvey, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Spending time with each of my parents was amazing too. I love being with them, especially now that I'm older.
I got some great photos!
They're all posted on my photo blog (link in side bar) and my Facebook.
Here's one of my favorites >
My Seattle trip was relatively quite, and I couldn't be more thankful of that.
I can't wait to see my family again.
As I've gotten older I appreciate my family so much more.

Spring Snow

The snow fell hard in Pullman, about 2 feet in 2 days. It was wonderful, a real winter, even if just for a few days. My CR-V kicked ass in the snow and was great for getting to the store on the days I needed it. I couldn't be happier! My old truck never could have done so well. I love AWD. Haha!
I took this picture walking home from classes one day. I titled it "Faded Glory". I haven't decided if I like it or not.
There's only about a week left until Spring Break and once again this year I have no plans. That's okay though, I hope to be working if tomorrow's interview goes well!
I'm going to set up a budget tonight to get my financial life in order. Wish me luck!
