Winry

PINK FRAMES
This is Winry, the sugar glider. She's the newest addition to the family since the passing of Rissy in the early summer. She's still a juvenile and will about double in size. Winry fits into the palm of my hand! She's very sweet and is slowly warming up to her new home.
Her current home is slightly too small for her, and I'm hoping to have a bigger home for her by winter break. It needs to be about 2'x2'x2'. Wish me luck in finding one!

Back from Vacation Blues

I've been back from Ocean Shores for a whopping 5 hours and already the post vacation blues have set in.
David and I had such a great time! It was all really chill and no big stress.

On the way to Ocean Shores we did experience a pop explosion in the car. When I say explosion... I mean explosion! A bottle of pop David and I were sharing tipped over, the cap was on just enough for it to spray EVERYWHERE. We had to pull over at a gas station and take 45 minutes to clean it up, it put us back a little on time, but honestly it was just funny. I've never seen coke-a-cola spray like that...

We stayed at the Oasis... cheap little motel not too far from the beach. The decorating was horrible (pink... pink... more pink...) but the bed was comfortable and huge, and the shower worked nicely (except for a lack of hot water after one person showered). It was close enough to the main strip and the beach that we were able to walk pretty much everywhere but the North Jetty.

The pelicans were out in force the first night we went to the North Jetty. They were so pretty and so cool to watch!

Everything was so awesome and the last morning (this morning) we took a nice ride on the beach. We had a great guide and wonderful horses. Its too bad my saddle was so worn down or I would have enjoyed it a million times more, but I still had so much fun. It was amazing. My horse, Dora, was jerky in her gait but still a pleasure to ride.

David bought me the COOLEST sweatshirt. It says "Tsunami Evactution Instructions: Run Like Hell" LOVE IT

I can't wait for another vacation, thats only what... 12 months away?

Goals for the next two weeks

I find that it helps me to write down my goals in a public place, because then I have the pressure of finishing them because now I know I can't back out of them!!!
  • Keep the house presentable- vaccumed, dishes done, laundry kept on top of
  • Laundry (this is a big one) go through all my boxes of clothes, wash, sort and repack all of them
  • Walk everyday (preferably with Macy)
I'll let you know how things go!

All kinds of things!

Since the last time I wrote all kinds of things have happened, and I'm finally able to sit down and just write them all out!

Work finished, and well, we can say I went out with a "bang". Unfortunately, my last day was during a ridiculously hot day and I got really sick because of it. The company I work for had to cover their bases so I got a nice ride to the ER in the back of an ambulance. It was really stressful and even though it was almost two weeks ago my arm is still recovering from a botched IV. I'm fine, and it was not a big deal all in all.
This last week I was on the road for roughly 34 hours! I had to be in Pullman for a few days for transfer student orientation and then Dad and I did a short trip to Bozeman to sell his truck camper.

Pullman was a lot of fun, got to meet some new people, including one of my new roommates (Lindsay). Lizzie (one of David's roommates and a friend of mine) was kind enough to let me crash on her floor. We had a fantastic time and didn't raise too much hell. I have to say that I'm extremely excited to live with Lindsay, she's such a cool laid back chick! This year is going to rock! During orientation I also changed my major (I know right? Again!?) and am perusing my degree in History with a teaching option. My goal is to change the way history is taught in high school. There's no reason history should ever be boring, but I'll write more about that later.

I got back from Pullman on Monday night and left with Dad for Missoula on Tuesday morning. We made it to Missoula (I slept most of the way) and had a wonderful laid back night in Missoula. The Rattlesnake river was as beautiful as ever and the walk was very nice and relaxing after multiple hours in the car. The next morning we got up and drove to Bozeman in hopes of taking a ride at a friends outfit near Bozeman. Unfortunately my friend was thrown from his new horse that morning and those plans were canceled. Dad and I did check out the Museum of the Rockies, Hyalite Canyon, and got to see old friends before driving back to Missoula that night. I didn't feel too great that night so we ended up skipping on dinner and just crashing. Thankfully, we slept in for a little while on Thursday morning before getting breakfast at a little Missoula joint called The Shack and then heading back west to Seattle.

Its been an awesome week or so and even though I'm no longer working a "real" job I'll be working as a house keeper for Mom and Dad to pay for some of the bedroom things I need for when I move back to Pullman in August.

Oh yes! Before I forget here's my new address starting in August
Kirsten Nelson
710 SE Chinook Dr
Apt# J45
Pullman WA 99163
Care packages, notes, and Christmas cards are always welcome!!!

Well there you go, all updated on the past two crazy weeks! I will hopefully write sooner, but will definitely be writing more once I'm back in Pullman!
Stay tuned for updates!
